SUMMARY:(RP09) iReceptor: A Platform for Exploring and Analyzing Antibody/
B-cell and T-cell Receptor Repertoire Data across Federated Repositories
DESCRIPTION:Research Poster\n\n(RP09) iReceptor: A Platform for Exploring
and Analyzing Antibody/B-cell and T-cell Receptor Repertoire Data across F
ederated Repositories\n\nCorrie, Breden\n\nIndividuals produce an immense
repertoire of antibody/B-cell and T-cell receptor sequences in order to re
cognize and destroy a diverse array of pathogens. For example, it has bee
n estimated that the number of possible human B-cell sequences is greater
than 10^13, and each person produces 10^8 - 10^9 B-cells during an immune
response, many of which are unique. In 2009 NGS approaches were used to c
haracterize the Adaptive Immune Receptor Repertoire (AIRR) in exquisite de
tail. These AIRR-Seq data sets have rapidly become critical to vaccine de
velopment, understanding the immune response in autoimmune disease, and in
developing novel therapeutics against cancer. The iReceptor system (irece
ptor.org) is a platform to integrate and analyze these immense data sets b
y combining: 1) an international network of AIRR-Seq data repositories; 2)
the ability to federate AIRR-Seq data across these distributed repositori
es; 3) the ability to apply advanced analytical tools using large advanced
research computing (ARC) resources; and 4) a scientific gateway that hide
s the complexity of performing research queries and advanced analyses acro
ss these federated data. iReceptor enables these capabilities by building
on the standards work being carried our by the AIRR Community (airr-commun
ity.org). iReceptor manages the staging of data and control of ARC analysi
s jobs through the use of the AGAVE science-as-a-service platform (agaveap
i.co).\n\nPasses: Conference Pass, Big Data Analytics, Clouds and Distribu
