SUMMARY:(PP16) Advanced Computation and I/O Methods for Earth-System Simul
 ations (AIMES)
DESCRIPTION:Project Poster\n\n(PP16) Advanced Computation and I/O Methods
for Earth-System Simulations (AIMES)\n\nKunkel, Ludwig, Dubos, Maruyama, A
oki...\n\nThe Advanced Computation and I/O Methods for Earth-System Simula
tions (AIMES) project addresses the key issues of programmability, computa
tional efficiency and I/O limitations that are common in next-generation i
cosahedral earth-system models. Ultimately, the project is intended to fos
ter development of best-practices and useful norms by cooperating on share
d ideas and components. During the project, we will ensure that the develo
ped concepts and tools are not only applicable for earth-science but for o
ther scientific domains as well.\nIn this poster we show the projects plan
and progress during the first two years of the project lifecycle.\n\nPass
