 ted computer models are integral to the development of products such as je
 t engines, wind turbines and new drugs.\n\nThis tutorial will present the 
 fundamental concepts, methods, and technologies of high-performance comput
 ing systems and the necessary parallel programming associated with it.  Af
 ter introducing the basic terminology and vocabulary, an overview about pa
 rallel computer architectures is given introducing shared memory, distribu
 ted memory, and hybrid computer systems including latest trends like many-
 core CPUs and hardware acceleration via GPUs.  Next, the basics of paralle
