SUMMARY:The Living Heart Project - Breaking the Barriers to Realistic Simu
 lation of the Human Body
DESCRIPTION:Focus Session\n\nThe Living Heart Project - Breaking the Barri
ers to Realistic Simulation of the Human Body\n\nButz\n\nGiven the prevale
nce of cardiovascular disease, major efforts are underway to understand ca
rdiac function, design effective treatments, and accelerate the approval p
rocess. However, the lack of realistic simulation models and adequate comp
utational resources has limited the use of in-silico methods to predict in
-vivo drug or device performance. In response, Dassault Systèmes SIMULIA f
ormed the Living Heart Project whose regulatory, research, industry and cl
inical members are collaborating to develop high fidelity multiphysics and
multiscale models of the human heart and leveraging cloud computing. We p
resent progress on this project to date.\n\nPasses: Conference Pass, Cloud
s and Distributed Computing, Personalized Medicine, Visualization & Virtua
l Reality\n\nTag: Conference Pass, Clouds and Distributed Computing, Perso
nalized Medicine, Visualization & Virtual Reality
